Water Sampling with Applied Microcontrollers
This project involves developing an autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) for real-time water quality monitoring in Biscayne Bay. The ASV overcomes the limitations of manual sampling and fixed stations by autonomously navigating predefined routes and collecting data on temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen. Powered by solar energy, it transmits data to a cloud platform for real-time processing and visualization via web and mobile apps. Field trials confirmed its accuracy, reliability, and energy efficiency, offering a scalable, cost-effective solution for environmental monitoring to support ecological sustainability and informed decision-making.
