IoT Shield

IoT Shield is a cybersecurity project that builds a compact, low-cost security monitoring lab for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Using a Raspberry Pi and virtual machines, the system simulates smart devices (such as a thermostat, camera, and door lock) alongside real-world cyberattacks like port scans, brute-force logins, and data exfiltration. All activity is collected and analyzed in a Splunk SIEM dashboard, which provides real-time insights and detects threats through custom security rules. The project demonstrates how effective security monitoring and threat detection can be achieved in a small-scale, affordable IoT environment while replicating real-world attack scenarios.
