Development of a Dementia Assessment App

This project will continue the development of a mobile app using Google Flutter and Firebase, for both Android and iOS (and for both tablets and smartphones). The purpose of the app is to collect data from individuals that can be used to screen for or track signs of various neurological, psychological, or motor diseases. In this specific project, we will develop several brief cognitive tests within this app, e.g., standardized tools such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), reading/speaking tests, motor tests (holding or moving the device in specific patterns etc.), mini-games (trace an object or connect-the-dots), etc. In order to obtain meaningful information, we will need to use the mobile device's sensors to record timing, motion, touch screen interactions, etc. and store this information on a remote database. Time permitting we will also perform simple performance analysis for visualization (e.g., how accurately one was able to trace an object or how quickly (and correctly) one was able to connect dots).
